After I graduated from IAR, I needed to know more about my career, where it could take me and how I could get there. One of my professor always spoke of AES. He said that "if anyone is serious about audio. They should know about AES." I am very serious about audio and I don't like to be uninformed or under informed about anything that I'm serious about.
The Audio Engineering Society (AES) is basically a big networking society. Being apart of AES can lead you into higher heights in you career. i think its more important for students to become members and grow within the society than anyone else in audio because students are the future of the new working class. Another perk about being a student member with AES is that students receive discounts to some of the AES Conventions, Conferences, and Regional Events. student membership is only $39 per year. I'd try to stay in school for as long as i can because regular membership is $99/yr and like i said students receive discounts on some of the AES events. Cant bet that.
i like this organization because its meant to better the up and coming. over 14,000 members are affiliated with more than 75 AES professional sections and more than 95 AES student sections around the world. you can meet people from different walks of the earth learning from each of their experiences and their knowledge and attach it to your own career. in audio, its all about improving; mastering your skills to the best ability, and if your learning from the best people in the industry you cant go wrong.

Lol, I like how you said that you'd like to try in school for as long as possible for the membership. I can tell you really have your heart set on audio engineering. But your thoughts make perfect sense and I completely understand why you want to do it.
ReplyDeleteim definatly with you on not liking being under informed about something thats so important for your future. ha! staying in school just to get a discounted price on the membership well thats one way for you to keep coming in then its a good thing. i like the fact that you can meet and learn from people all over the world.
